Conversion redundant barn in Suffolk
03/05/2005 21:29:41

The existing barn had the front removed for use as an agricultural building. The building works involved forming new plinth walls and ground floor slab. Cross walls were formed to take the additional loads imposed by the conversion and to stabilise the existing barn. The design incorporated many ecological and energy saving devices including a ground source heat pump to power the under floor heating, solar panels to provide hot water and a rainwater harvesting system for flushing wc's. We produced a fully detailed design and administered the building contract making weekly inspections to site.
