The client’s vision for the project was to create a large family living space to replace the existing kitchen and utility room. This was achieved by extending the building to the rear, creating a single room opening onto the garden. To create a single space the existing external walls and on two sides of the property were removed which required careful detailing of steel beams to support the existing walls.
