Swimming Pool

Clients in North Suffolk had an existing swimming pool with a glazed cover designed to slide to give an open air pool during fine weather.

Project Overview

This cover had become dilapidated and the sliding mechanism had failed. Our brief was to design a new permanent building to cover the swimming pool. The location was behind a traditional timber boarded barn within the grounds of a listed farmhouse. We were the keen to design a new building which would blend in with the traditional form of the farm buildings on the site. The proposed building is glazed internally to ensure that the pool remains a light and open space but has timber louvres on the outside to complement the aesthetic of the surrounding buildings. The internal glazing is designed with sliding sections to allow an abundance of fresh air into the pool when required to prevent overheating.
