At Whitworth, we are proud to be specifying and overseeing a programme of external repair works to Trinity Methodist Church, a well-known landmark in the heart of Clacton-on-Sea.

About Trinity Methodist Church, Clacton
Positioned at the junction of Pier Avenue and Rosemary Road West, the church has been a defining feature of the town since its construction in 1877, built to serve a rapidly growing seaside community. With its concrete structure and distinctive Kentish Ragstone facings, the building has long held both architectural and social significance.

External repairs to Trinity Methodist Church
Our current works focus on addressing areas of deterioration to the external fabric, including repairs to the prominent spire and the decorative stonework surrounding the large front gable rose window. In addition, we are carrying out targeted repairs within the main worship space, ensuring that internal areas affected by damage are carefully restored.
This project is ultimately about safeguarding the building’s long-term integrity while giving it a refreshed and well-maintained appearance. Trinity Methodist Church is a historic structure, but it also continues to play a vital role in the local community, supporting a range of groups and providing a base for initiatives that assist those in need.

With roots tracing back to Methodist activity in the area as early as 1794, and a history that includes being the largest church in the local circuit, Trinity Methodist Church remains an important part of Clacton’s identity. We are pleased to support its ongoing use and preservation, ensuring it continues to serve the town for years to come.
