Blakeney Old Rectory

The Whitworth Co-Partnership was appointed to undertake an extensive scheme of repairs and refurbishment at Blakeney Old Rectory.

Project Overview

After emergency measures to make watertight and environmental control of extensive dry rot, a fully detailed heritage impact assessment was undertaken. Key structural elements were conserved and primary discrete structural repairs followed using traditional repair techniques to minimise heritage impact. Where possible all materials were re-used including the original weather patinated roof tiles and conservation of the 20th-century wall finishes and wallpapers. A new heating system, water supply and power provision were laid throughout the property. New oversized cast-iron rainwater goods were installed and the wellhead was reinstated to a functional condition.
