The existing church hall was refurbished, including a new kitchen, with the addition of new meeting rooms & store.
A new glazed extension, incorporating an entrance hall, new toilets and an office was also constructed. The design of the extension provides a degree of continuity with the form of the existing building, as well as in the choice of brick. A contrast with the existing has also been created through the use of aluminium framed glazing.
The new entrance hall has provided a bright, open space, creating a more welcoming entrance to the building. A modern zinc roof reflects the form & colour of the existing slate roof while providing a crisp modern feel.

Whitworth is pleased to have completed phase one of the reordering works at All Saints Church in Stanton, near Bury St Edmunds. This is a project focused on helping this much-loved historic building continue to serve its community for generations to come.
In 2023, Whitworth was approached by our client to sympathetically carry out the conversion of an existing 1980s garage, originally built to accommodate the previous owner’s Ferrari, to a new one-bedroom annexe accommodation.
Whitworth oversaw the restoration of the historic Martello Tower in Aldeburgh, the largest of its kind from the Napoleonic Wars.
