Orange Triangle

Oast House Roof Repairs

The property is a C18 Grade II listed village home which was originally a maltings. The property was converted to residential usage in the mid C19, with the conical oast house roof being incorporated into the house. It was this section of roof that was causing concern as the tiling had started falling.

Project Overview

The project involved stripping the existing clumsily laid tiling, assessing the roof structure, unpicking and revising the inappropriate repairs from the 1960’s. Sheep’s wool insulation was laid between the structure and the roof was re-tiled with new handmade clay tiles.
