St Gregory, Sudbury: Re-ordering
This project involved the reordering of the west end of the church, introducing a WC and servery facilities for the first time and refitting the vestry with a gallery for storage.
Project Overview
We have delivered a substantial improvement to this town church (grade I listed), to improve its functional and social potential, and to increase its role in mission in Sudbury. The project involved working with an archaeologist at an early stage for lowering the tower floor, a structural engineer and a CDM Co-ordinator. The scheme is designed to complement the mediaeval interior but to take the traditional language further in a contemporary manner. This project was successfully completed through close liaison with the various members of the client and contracting team, despite an unexpectedly high number of funerals during the site phase. The project was delivered on budget and on time.
