The Almshouse Trustees met this week to consider your Quinquennial Survey. They have asked me to write to thank Mr Cleveland for his excellent report.
We were impressed by the care taken to check fine detail, and we will find the generous number of supporting photographs particularly helpful in identifying and tracking problems. The presentation of the survey was immaculate - it will, I fear, become less immaculate as it gradually turns into our much-thumbed bible of maintenance.

The survey from Whitworth was comprehensive, detailed, informative and very useful. The whole process was turned around quickly and efficiently, and we feel we have a valuable document at the end of it. Our instruction had the complication of being (partly) heritage and were recommended the services of Stephen Boniface, whose experience and expertise in the field were clear. Having the opportunity to discuss the survey via a Zoom call was particularly worthwhile.
Very much recommended and worth paying a little more for, if you were to have any cheaper quotes coming in.
Ten stars! I can’t rate Whitworth highly enough for their first rate service. It was really easy to organise the detailed survey with Sarah Searle in their office. The survey was carried out promptly, with a follow-up Zoom call the next morning with the surveyor, Neil Cleveland, who used photos he’d taken and ran through the various issues, suggesting what remedial works would be needed, answered all our questions fully and was just a genuinely helpful and engaging person to deal with. The Zoom call meant we were able to progress our purchase swiftly and we then received the detailed written report within a week, together with supplementary info such as useful websites, additional reading, an index of technical terms and planning jargon.
Exceptional architectural practice. From concept design to detailed plans for construction, Whitworth Architects are creative and diligent to the clients brief producing very practical and high quality designs. I have used for 4 developments now and would highly recommend to any individual or company looking for good value for money... very often I have expanded the brief for Whitworths to include planning liaison etc and have found all tasks to have been completed professionally and swiftly. Excellent dedication to my projects, great individuals to work with and always the end result I needed!
