If you’re a Part I architecture student looking to bridge the gap between study and practice, this opportunity can shape how you think, design and work going forward.
At Whitworth, an award-winning practice of Chartered Architects and Chartered Building Surveyors, we are seeking a Part I student for a year-out placement at our Bury St Edmunds office. Known for delivering a bespoke, end-to-end service, our practice offers a breadth of experience that goes beyond the typical entry-level role.
A hands-on introduction to practice
This is not a role where you’ll be confined to one task. Working within a small, friendly team, the successful applicant will gain exposure to all aspects of architectural work, including design development, specification and elements of job running. It’s a valuable opportunity to see how projects evolve in real time and to understand how decisions made on paper translate on site.
Our portfolio spans a diverse range of projects, from small-scale domestic alterations to larger conservation and commercial work. For a Part I student, this variety is particularly valuable, offering insight into different building types, client needs and levels of complexity.
For students looking to build confidence and capability, joining a smaller practice like Whitworth offers a more immersive experience. You’re more likely to be involved in meaningful work, contribute to live projects and gain a clearer understanding of the profession as a whole.
How to apply
Applicants are invited to apply in writing or by email with a CV to MStearn@whitworth.co.uk
