Our clients had purchased a property with a conservatory in the rear garden. This had failing timber windows and a Polycarbonate roof which made it cold, noisy and un-usable for the majority of the time. The clients were in need of additional living accommodation  and the decision was made to upgrade the Conservatory and open it up into the main house. The brickwork and roof structure were retained and a new zinc roof covering added  together with high performance aluminium windows.  Although the conservatory has less glazing than before it is a light and comfortable space, the high levels of insulation that have been incorporated in to the roof and  walls mean that heat loss is below the requirement of Building regulations and the space can now be comfortably used all year round.
