The Whitworth Co-Partnership have recently completed a new townhouse in the centre of the historic Suffolk market town of Bury st Edmunds.
The site, lying in the conservation area had been empty for a number of years and was adjacent to a listed building. In order to obtain planning approval, careful negotiation was undertaken with both the local residents and the conservation officer, the final design is for a traditionally detailed property matching the scale and proportions of the terrace of properties lying to the east. The building contains an independent one-bedroom flat within the basement and a four-bedroom house on the ground first and second floors.
