The feasibility  study for the conversion of buildings for the city’s first hospice have just been handed to BELhospice.  The scheme suggests that a day centre, out patients accommodation and a ten bedded hospice could be created out of the existing buildings, if the money can be found for the conversion works. This is the fourteenth scheme for palliative care facilities in former communist countries undertaken by the practice, excluding the twelve desk assessments for the Serbian Ministry of Health undertaken in 2011.

Zoran Purkovic Director of the BELhospice said:

“Building a first inpatient hospice unit in Serbia represents huge challenge for our charity. What makes it easier is to have an experienced and trustworthy partner such as WCP.”
